Fire Department

The Loris Fire Department is a full-service, pay-per-call fire department responsible for fire protection for the residents of the City of Loris since 1928.  The department serves city residents and those inside the Loris Fire District of the unincorporated Horry County area outside city limits. 

Services provided by the Loris Fire Department include Fire Suppression, Fire Inspections, Extrication/ Rescue, Hazardous Materials Operations, Risk Reduction, Fire and Life Safety Education, and EMS First Responder assistance.  The department has Automatic Aid and Mutual Aid agreements with Horry County Fire Rescue and Tabor City Fire Department.

The Loris Fire Department operates the following vehicles:

• Engines (3),
• Ladder Tower (1),
• Rescue/Squad (1),
• Tanker (1),
• Brush trucks (2),
• Highwater Vehicle/Flood Boat (1), and
• Antique Fire Engine (1).

The Loris Fire Department, in partnership with the American Red Cross and Fire Safe SC, has a smoke alarm installation program for those in need.  CLICK HERE to take advantage of this program.  Additionally, applications may be dropped off at Loris City Hall or the Loris Public Safety Building. We are currently a designated Fire Safe SC Community.
