Planning Commission

The Planning Commission engages in a continuing planning program for the physical, social, and economic well-being of the City of Loris.  Appointed by the Mayor and City Council to serve four-year terms, the Commission is responsible for promoting municipal planning, which includes the adoption of a Comprehensive Plan.  The Commission also has the authority to initiate changes to the Zoning Ordinance and Land Development Regulations and maintain the City’s Future Land Use Map.  In addition, the Commission administers the Land Development Regulations and approves preliminary and final plats for minor and major subdivisions.  Contact the Planning Commission by calling Meredith Holmes, Planning Director, at (843) 716-6507.
