Planning Commission
The Planning Commission engages in a continuing planning program for the physical, social, and economic well-being of the City of Loris. Appointed by the Mayor and City Council to serve four-year terms, the Commission is responsible for promoting municipal planning, which includes the adoption of a Comprehensive Plan. The Commission also has the authority to initiate changes to the Zoning Ordinance and Land Development Regulations and maintain the City’s Future Land Use Map. In addition, the Commission administers the Land Development Regulations and approves preliminary and final plats for minor and major subdivisions. 2025 – Application Deadline & Meeting Schedule
The City of Loris Planning Commission will meet on the fourth Thursday of each month; however, should this fall on a holiday, the meeting will occur on the Thursday of the preceding or following week, as stated below. Please note that the Planning Commission may call special meetings, as needed, and will announce them in compliance with the Freedom of Information Act.
Unless otherwise specified, all meetings will begin at 6:00 p.m. and be held in the Council Chambers at Loris City Hall, 4101 Walnut Street, Loris, South Carolina 29569.
