Sanitation Department
The City of Loris contracts with Jordan Waste for solid waste collection. This collection includes residential and business customers.
Debris: Debris pickup is handled by City personnel and can be disposed of at curbside and will be picked up by our Sanitation Department.
Debris includes grass clippings, leaves, tree trimmings, etc. All limbs, branches, etc. should be cut to lengths less than 5 feet and should be less than 6 inches in diameter.
For prompt and efficient service, yard waste should be placed in a neat pile near the street separate from household garbage. Leaf and limb in plastic bags will not be picked up.
Yard waste generated by landscape contractors, tree services, etc. is not picked up by the City, and should be disposed of by the contractor performing the work.
Construction Waste: Residents that need to dispose of large quantities of construction/ renovation waste should haul this debris directly to the landfill. Contractors are responsible for the transportation and disposal of all waste created by their activities.
Special Collections: The City provides a special collection service for an acceptable amount of bulky items such as furniture, appliances, etc. This is not regularly scheduled but is provided on an as needed basis. Please call the City Hall at (843-756-4004) prior to placing these items at the street to ensure prompt pickup. Large quantities of bulky items wil not be picked up and must be hauled directly to the landfill.
Prohibited Waste: The City does not pick up construction debris, land-clearing debris, hazardous material, medical waste, or automotive waste (batteries, oil, etc.). These items must be properly disposed of at the landfill.
