NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a general non-partisan election will be held in the City of Loris, South Carolina on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 for the purpose of electing a mayor and three members of city council for terms of four years beginning January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2023.
FURTHER, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special non-partisan election will be held in the City of Loris, South Carolina on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 for the purpose of electing a member of city council to fill an unexpired term ending December 31, 2021.
The filing for Mayor and City Council opened on Friday, August 23, 2019. Originally, the filing was scheduled to close on Friday, September 6, 2019. However, the City of Loris will close operations at noon on Wednesday, September 4 due to anticipated weather conditions from Hurricane Dorian and books to file for the election will close at that time.
The fee to file for Mayor is $75.00, and the fee to file for
Council is $50.00. A valid driver’s license and voter’s registration card is required.
