In observance of Memorial Day, administrative offices for the City of Loris will be closed Monday, May 26, 2025, for non-essential personnel.
Established by Congress in 1971 as an official federal holiday, Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in service of the United States of America. It's said that "a picture is worth a thousand words," and nothing could be truer or ring louder than this. Let us always be thankful to the servicemen and women for their dedication to our great nation and never forget those who gave their all and made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we have today. We hope that everyone has a safe and reflective holiday weekend.
