***2025 City Election Information***
Filing Books open at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday, August 22, 2025.
Filing Books close at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday, September 5, 2025.
Dates and times must be strictly adhered to – No early or late filing is allowed by South Carolina Law.
City employees cannot assist any candidate with documents (other than notarizing) or provide assistance with filing the forms required by the South Carolina State Ethics Commission.
Candidates shall do the following:
- Reside inside the city limits of Loris and be at least 18 years old.
- Present a valid form of picture identification.
- Present a valid voter registration identification card.
- Complete a Statement of Intention of Candidacy – Nonpartisan.
- Pay the required $200.00 filing fee for the City Council election.
- Visit the South Carolina State Election Commission Website and complete the required ethics forms. (This is done after filing by the candidate.)
