11/18/2025:  Political Signs & Signs in Rights-of-WayPolitical Signs & Signs in ROWs

The City of Loris Planning Department would like to remind political candidates and citizens that all political campaign signs must be removed within ten (10) days of an election.  Candidates for today’s runoff election must have all signs removed no later than Friday, November 28th, and candidates not in the runoff election must already have their campaign signs removed.  Any signs not compliant with the City’s Zoning Ordinance will be removed.

We’ve had several issues lately regarding signs placed throughout the city not in compliance with our rules and regulations.  We would like to remind the general public that no signs are allowed to be placed in any rights-of-way within the Loris city limits, except those as stated in the City’s Zoning Ordinance.  Signs painted on or attached to trees, fence posts, telephone or other utility poles, rocks, or other natural features are explicitly prohibited.  Any off-premise signs must be in conformance with the requirements of the City’s OPO (Off-Premises Sign Overlay) Zone.  Non-exempt sign placed within any right-of-way is forfeited and subject to confiscation.
